We are looking for a Research Officer and Research intern to join our team. They will be working with an interdisciplinary team comprising ecologists, social scientists and disaster risk reduction experts at Center for Conservation Biology, Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences.

Research Officer (one position)

Full-time | One Year

 Responsibilities

• Play a lead role in team coordination, and provide research teams with overall administrative and logistical support
• Plan, organize and perform field data collection as per the research plan
• Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and prepare manuscripts
• Prepare reports and communication materials (e.g., infographics) and disseminate to diverse stakeholders
• Other work as assigned by PI

 Requirements

• BSc or M. Sc in any subject of biological sciences
• A year of working experience is prefered.
• Data analysis using R or other programming languages
• Highly motivated in the academic research and excellent writing skills in English
• Ability to work with others in a fast-paced working environment

Salary: According to the KIAS rule.

Research Intern (two positions)

Full-time | Paid Internship | Six months

Responsibilities

• Carryout literature review, data management and assist in data analyses;
• Contribute to the implementation of project activities;
• Provide administrative support on an as-needed basis;
• Prepare relevant communications materials for both online and print media;
• Other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field in ecology (e.g., zoology, botany, environmental sciences) or social sciences
• Experience is NOT mandatory. Typical previous experience includes research internships while in college or internships with similar organizations or academic institutions.
